Ask Lemmygrad@lemmygrad.ml•Why is Enver Hoxha so underrated in the Marxist-Leninist community?
18·7 days agoThanks for writing this. I like to see the perspective of Chinese Marxists on this topic.
His last words were followed by RED. Like a TRUE comrade.

Ask Lemmygrad@lemmygrad.ml•Should we condemn cults of personality?
15·1 month agoI mean, how much is it a cult of personality versus an appreciation for a leader?
Lenin, Stalin, Mao, Kim Il-Sung, and Hồ Chí Minh – which are the first people I think when I read “cult of personality” – basically pulled their nations from the ground up and led the people through some great war, usually against overwhelming odds.
People were going to appreciate that. And it’s easier to honor a single person than the entire Party and Military.
I don’t know about the others, but Stalin for one didn’t like how people honored him. Dude just wanted to watch cowboy movies.

Ask Lemmygrad@lemmygrad.ml•"What about human nature?" - how to respond
3·1 month agoThe problem is that “bad” changes over time. I mean, in the past (and even today, let’s be honest), a woman wanting to be equals to a man was “bad”.

3·1 month agoI think you could also talk about how human nature wasn’t always there. Like, if you go back in time enough, humans were just fish in the ocean that – through material conditions – evolved their current “nature”.
So, be a scientist, I guess. Greed is due to the necessity of hoarding scarce resources for later use, violence is a tool for the protection of the self and their group etc.

Isn’t this why some people hate lawyers?

Ask Lemmygrad@lemmygrad.ml•"What about human nature?" - how to respond
9·1 month agoYou can ask questions about why do “bad” people do “bad” things. For example, why do people steal from stores? Would they steal stuff if they could afford it? Would people take advantage over others if there was a way to take advantage without hurting other people?
Or you can mention some counterexamples, like why don’t people steal the free handkerchiefs at tables?
Don’t be sorry. Thanks for making me think a bit more.
I don’t think I can answer that. I need to read more.
Keyword is “I”. You as an individual **cannot ** fight socdems or demsocs. You need an organized party. I didn’t phrase it well, I think.
Not necessarily. Liberalism is a “lesser evil” compared to full fascism. Assuming that socdems/demsocs are dangerous at every moment is idealism. For example, The CPC allied itself with the Guomindang when it came to the fight against the fascist Japanese. Also, when it comes to solidarity with the White proletariat of the Global North, we shouldn’t forget their complicity, but we have White comrades here. Remember what Fred Hampton said:
We got to face some facts. That the masses are poor, that the masses belong to what you call the lower class, and when I talk about the masses, I’m talking about the white masses, I’m talking about the black masses, and the brown masses, and the yellow masses, too. We’ve got to face the fact that some people say you fight fire best with fire, but we say you put fire out best with water. We say you don’t fight racism with racism—we’re gonna fight racism with solidarity. We say you don’t fight capitalism with no black capitalism; you fight capitalism with socialism. – Power Anywhere Where There’s People!, Fred Hampton.
Apologies for pulling a quote here, but I think it fits this context. I know White people benefit from the spoils of imperialism, but they are proletarians with false consciousness. We shouldn’t dehumanize them.
In a nutshell, dehumanization is the tool of fascists.
Whether you like it or not, our target audience holds the beliefs depicted in the meme. They hold petit bourgeois consciousness because this is the default of a bourgeois society.
If you want to attack something, attack the belief (like this meme does). Don’t attack a person unless they are fascist.

(Couldn’t resist the 007 reference)

Hope it’s good!
