7·5 days agoWhy else would they allow the bill to be passed? Let’s be honest here, lobbyists and corporations control the government. Whoever has the most money has the most sway casue “donations are free speech”
We’ll never know why they did it. I guess depression can sneak up on the best of us 😔

could be wrong but I think the way foreign litany bases work is that they are in the thinnest legal sense “sovereign foreign territory.” To which I mean, the activities conducted on these bases are outside the control of the country who’s land they occupy.Edit: I was wrong, amd the US are just tennants on the land which makes this a very questionable thing that they are doing.

101·12 days agoHow does that interplay with the whole “Corporations are people” and if the corporation owns the llm, it could theoretically claim ownership of what the llm generates? (To be clear I agree with the decision that ai shouldn’t get a copywrite and don’t think corporations are people but I am genuinely curious)

2·19 days agoIm happy to try and share some positivity. It costs nothing to be kind after all. It might seem daunting or difficult now, but the only way it’ll never happen is if you stop trying, you know?

2·19 days agoThats wild, from married to moved out that fast. I’m sorry things turned out that way. I went through a shockingly similar experience last year, so I know how difficult that can be. Grief comes in waves and out of nowhere sometimes. Silver linings like kitties and quiet nights are the little things that can help a lot, I found.

2·19 days agoWealth is like the One Ring to Rule Them All…to most people. The second they have it in their possession it takes over and they turn into Gollum, unwilling to let it go and very happy to do almost anything to retain or bolster what they have.
