  • There are breeders who are operating ethical, you know? Treating mother and father good, only letting so many litters happen, letting the kittens socialize before relocating to people willing to take good care of their new family members. Getting all the vet work done in the first weeks, providing good infos about the cats and what they will need…

And for why: some breeds are special in personality. I have two ragdoll-siam girls now and they really are special. Very people oriented, chatty, super patient with kids but still energetic. I can now see why some people pay for (ethically) bred cats.

  • Before being a parent i tried to do as much net positiv things for my energy level as possible.

    • Go for a walk in nature as long as needed to feel decompressed
    • Do something creative (with which i struggeled a lot because of overly high expectations for myself)
    • Some caring for the body (e.g. a bath, nails, skincare, whatever)

But now as a parent, i just rest as much as possible and try not to feel bad for doing so.

There are studies indicating that 1. The Urbanisation of previous bird habitat has a much bigger impact on certain populations and 2. Most of the birds killed are common and adapted to urban life. Which leads to the conclusion that cats are not the one and only big problem for sining bird population, which is mostly spoken of in this context.

  • Oh, these kids will make their experiences whatsoever. Even helicopter parents need to do stuff from time to time and kids somehow KNOW if they are not watched, ever for a second. It might take longer to make all the experience one needs, but they will get them one way or another.

  • Most definitely as a baby or toddler, yes you have. And if it was not asphalt it was similar stuff like walls and such.

As soon as one has enough data and a brain developed enough one absolutely can tell the feel and taste of stuff even if not tested.

Bonus points if your a parent. Toddlers WILL force stuff in your mouth and you WILL have the chance to test the theories.

  • I had enough nice bread go bad to come up with a strategy.

Freeze half the loaf if you can. With a Toaster you can defreeze and toast at the same time. For my toaster i vary between full blast for whole grain like spelt or rye and mid/high for softer types like multigrain with more wheat, may even go lower on those soulless wheat loafs that don’t taste like anything except empty calories. Leave the rest out and it will be ready to eat the other day or next meal. I mean, the bread is stale by day 2-3 anyway so toasting it is kind of a no brainer for me.

  • Honestly: the medium does not matter all that much imho. The one person in the conversation not being able to get their shit together is the problem. If everyone involved can communicate what they want to get done by when and what i have to do with it, im fine with a phonecall. Im even willing to summarize it via text afterwards if i don’t have to be the fucking rubber ducky again. Ugh.
