  • It’s so funny I met a friend of a friend the other day and telework came up and she said ‘and I bet other people say, we can’t do it so u guys shouldn’t either!’ I laughed it off. Awhile later I asked her what she does for work and she said ‘state worker’ LOL

Ya its hard to say what the whole population thinks of course but I hope some ppl realize if we get a win on this their chances improve. Most office workers don’t have the luxury of a union but if we get a win and start peeling off talent, the chances private sector embraces goes up!

As for GN I hope someday we figure out the real reason behind his sudden turn because even the most cynical political motives don’t make a lot of sense. He is largely disliked in Cali from what I can tell, if he were to run for prez someday I’m not even sure he could get Cali in the primaries so why burn all state workers? We’re not a huge percentage of state residents but he’s not only shooting himself in the foot with us but our kids are future voters, there’s City and county employees and UC families… It just seems incredibly stupid.

  • Actually peaceful resistance is the ONLY method that has a successful track record. What ends up happening is violence gives fascists the excuse to crack down and the middle-road fence-sitters see videos of violent protests and side with fascism.

Did you know that MLK actually operated schools for his operatives where they would burn them with cigarettes so they could train themselves not to react when they did their sit-ins?

That is true self-discipline and that’s why their movement eventually won out. It took forever and lots of people sacrificed their bodies and lives and time but it changed the mindstate of the country overall to where actual change was enacted.

Trump was right on the verge of using the Insurrection Act, but one by one, every city he swarmed with ICE practiced non-violent reistance and eventually he had to pull them out with no dispatch of national guard. ICE walked away with their reputation stained forever because the protestors never gave them a video or soundbyte they could use against us.

We’ve got full on networks of anti-ICE resistance now all over the country, we follow the law but we make life very difficult for ICE and do our best to alert communities when they show up. We’re doing our best. The midterms are almost here and Trump has a record low approval rating, its about to be a wipeout and its all thanks to American democratic resistance.

  • Rioting does not work in America because our cops have been armed with military grade weapons and are completely empowered to respond with violence at will. Peaceful resistance is what we’ve been doing and it is working. It’s just very very slow and impatient people are gonna be disappointed. Trump and his regime WANT rioting because it gives them the excuse. When your enemy wants you to react a certain way, you don’t give them that. So no, we won’t be rioting. General strike is a great idea and may be possible but peaceful resistance is our way and it’s 100% working. MAGA went from control of every part of our govt to now eating itself. We’re winning. No one said it would be easy or fast.

  • Indeed, and losing plus being unable to accept that you are a loser is what seems to drive them. I have no doubt he would fully enjoy dictatorship if he were able to successfully obtain it but let’s be real, there are plenty of stories of leaders who want to be dictators and who try and fail. Napoleon is a great example. Although I guess it depends what you consider failure at fascism… Is there a set amount of time one has to control a nation? Personally I would say success is gaining power over a nation and remaining in power until you die and then successfully passing rule to your designated heir. That would mean Napoleon, Hitler, Saddam… all failures. Successful dictators? The Kim family. Stalin. Castro. Tons and tons of others, not going for an exhaustive list here. Another measure of success I suppose is how much harm does the dictator cause while in power? By that measure, Hitler would be a dictator and Trump I guess would be too. I think it all comes down to how can we mitigate the damage while he’s here, get him out as quickly as possible and then endure his ideology does not persist after he’s gone. We’re not doing so great on the first two but I am pretty confident the third will be easy because he is self-destructing spectacularly right now.

  • They can certainly keep trying loopholes and no question he has been allowed to get away with way more than any citizen, let alone president, should. But this is ‘Better Call Saul’ style lawfare, it seems very clever and kind of shocking that he can get away with it but gravity always kicks in eventually. His former biographer Michael Wolff has spent a shitload of time w him and I think correctly has said Trump is not some kind of evil genius, he’s not Hitler he is a Hitler FAN, and thus, quite stupid and quite crazy. He is chaos. And while you can get by on that for a little while, eventually it collapsed and everyone associated with him ends up dragged into the abyss. It’s possible he may walk away or pass away or whatever without consequences but make no mistake… He is and always has been, a deeply damaged and mentally ill person who cannot help breaking everything he touches. This guy burned away his dad’s fortune, self destructed a reality TV dynasty, served as president and STILL managed to become the first president to be charged w a felony and then he ran on exposing a pedophile network that HE WAS INVOLVED IN. Do the math man, apples still fall from trees and Trump ain’t magical. We may be about to witness the most spectacular and public failure in human history.
