What makes it good?
If it’s like the civil war doc made by the same folks years ago they tended to spend a lot of time focusing on the impact and effect on individuals through reciting letters and montages of personal photographs with some period authentic background music. It helps give examples on perspectives of the time around historic events and groups where many other docs just focus on presidents and queens and historic personalities.
It is. I’m 2 episodes in. Very enjoyable. They also have battle overviews showing on a tactical level how events like the invasion of Quebec happened. It’s a great mix of storytelling from a macro economics perspective, a leadership perspective, and the perspectives of individuals living through the events. 10/10
I havent seen this one, but Ken Burns is a highly acclaimed historical documentary filmmaker.
