    it got me thinking, how are you even supposed to use such tank, tactically? you don’t call CAS and expect MOAB to drop. instead you ride all the way to trench and blow it up, making some 200m wide gap. now what?

    you can’t have dismounts because of some 100m fatal overpressure radius and that’s before accounting for fragments. you can’t put them in APCs because of things like tread links moving suddenly at 1km/s. so you either have to put them in tanks, or in trenches, and then make them rush the other trench. this sounds like something ww1 commander would like, not something viable today

      With what you outlined, the best use-case would be the same as a drone-dropped explosive. Simply to cause casualties and weaken the line for a later attack.

      However, with how large and slow they are, and the fact you (presumably) don’t have a driver inside, so it’s just driving straight; they just aren’t practical.
