I thought clanker was for Ai? I really like that term for it, a modern version. It dont fit for people. Historically a clanker would be thought of as a broken beat old car, or maybe, some other broken down machinery. no?

    My journey was:

Wait, there’s a ton of religions, most of which think that they’re the ones with the one immutable truth?

Then none of them are right, or it would be obvious.

I still spent years with Christian apologia and god-in-the-gaps nonsense but at least my personal moral and religious development was rooted in doubt rather than faith.

Somehow both of my parents were disappointed in my atheism.

Of course they were. Otherwise they’d have to admit to believing bullshit all their life.

theres tons of scientific conclusions about a certain thing as well, so all of them must be false?

what, if, one was right and the rest were wrong, as we can observe?

We can observe that scientifically using evidence. By the same process, we observe no gods at all, just a bunch of humans lying to get what they think they want.

Do people make false claims and pretend they got their scientifically? Yes. But here’s the neat part: honest science can correct those lies. Science is a process we use to approach truth, not an authority. If someone misrepresents their results or decides their conclusion before examining the evidence, they are not performing science.

With science, unlike religion, there are measurable standards grounded in observable reality. We can consistently arrive at similar results even if we don’t fully understand them.

well, the scientific method must be used to prove, not disprove so you cannot scientifically disprove God’s existence.

And can I have the procedure you are following to “observe no God”?

That’s exactly it. We use our best means to look, and we do not see god. We do see people making shit up.

This is not complicated. Try being consistent in your values.

Do you believe in Allah? There is just as much evidence for him as for Yahweh (none at all).

Correct. Whereas your approach is “just make up whatever I like and pretend it’s true.” You have invented false evidence, and rejected or distorted legitimate evidence, all so you can keep playing death cultist with a clean conscience.

                Fuck you for choosing death.

I can only hope that what goes around, comes around.

You have no idea the suffering you are choosing for innocent people.

I was reading a Korean web novel. It was comedy smut tower climbing thing. I picked it up because the pliy sounded ridiculous and I wanted something stupid to read.

There was a mission about resolving a religious war. The main character somehow tricked both sides into thinking they were the decended god.

Both sides worshipped the same god. Dialects and translations changed the name and nobody compared the books because one side was a bunch of fanatics that took the teachings extremely literally. Including something like 99 commandments.

At the very end she blew my mind with some BS they spat about they love all of humanity because everyone is flawed. The commandments are there so you know how flawed you are. They don’t force faith because that’s not freedom.

I think that’s how it should be. I believe in freedom of religion. Anything that brings you peace and makes you a better person.

The issue is always when faith is used to sin. Enforcing your beliefs on others, infringing on thier freedom, taking money/assets. The list goes on.

I’m not an atheist. I’m agnostic.

The webnovel you don't want to read. Just no. Don't do it. It's ridiculous.

I’ve Become an Onahole, But I’ll Still Climb The Tower

Synopsis : A man who was once the strongest in the world…

Betrayed and killed unjustly—only to wake up in a pink female body?!

“Even in this kind of body… I will never give up!!”

Genre : Action, Adult, Adventure, Comedy, Ecchi, Fantasy, Gender Bender, Mature, Psychological, Smut

DM me for a link to download a translated rip if you actually want to read it…

Imo freedom from religion is more important than freedom of religion. When a religion seeks to control people it should not be allowed as part of society anymore.

The current incarnation is economics, which filled the control mechanism void vacated by religion after the Enlightenment. A bunch of arbitrary rules, conjured out of thin air by the ruling class, protected from scrutiny, and imposed upon the masses.

    • Churches and cathedrals replaced with banks and financial institutions.
    • Priests and clergy replaced with economists and finance officers.
    • Mythology replaced with finance.
    • God replaced with GDP.

This is not to claim religion and economics shouldn’t play a part in society, they can help with social cohesion and unifying groups for a common goal. My argument is that they should be subservient to the will and needs of the society they exist within, not positioned as their current dictatorial role of casting the societal mould.

I used to basically worship my friend for some fucking reason. I really believed he could not fuck up.

Ex-friend. Now my “beliefs” are hard to comprehend even, but center around certain values, that I invoke all the time.

Far more real and practical than sky man ever was.
