I’m guessing it would have been a memorial to victims of the gulag. In which case, it’s possible that the authorities will get around to destroying it at some point.

Based on that silhouette, I’m pretty sure this mask wouldn’t fit me.

If it’s in Russia and expressing sorrow, where’s the pile of empty vodka bottles?

You know, if not some govt destroys it, it will be likely here in 10’000 years still. In that context, i think the artist did a poor job; some random post-apocalyptic dude comming by doesn’t see sorrow in it, just some creepy art piece.
