Payne said the victory came amid a deliberate strategy by the union to target parts of the business workers that could exert the most influence. While retail locations have unionized in the past, the powerful distribution centres that supply more than 100 brick and mortar stores and oversee online orders have proven elusive.

Good to see them recognize the difference in leverage different workers have. They, can use it to lift up the ones with less of it.

Not a store. It’s a warehouse. Walmart has 2 in the GTA. They probably can’t afford to kill this location while keeping the Walmart store chain operational. It has been unionized since 2024. This news is about them getting their first contract deal.

There was a store once upon a time that unionized, do not remember where or when it was, the union lasted a full year until it dissolved, people saw union dews on their pay stubs and did not like paying that. People really do not understand that there are so many benefits that come along with those dues. Hopefully people who work at this distribution centre see the benefits, does not mean I will start shopping at Walmart again.
