Spotify Technology SA co-founder Martin Lorentzon said he would leave Sweden immediately if the country introduces new wealth taxes.

Lorentzon urged politicians to consider higher taxes on capital or dividends instead of a wealth tax, saying it would be “directly counterproductive”.

Lorentzon said the discussions about new taxes have already created uncertainty, with entrepreneurs asking if it is still OK to start a company in Sweden.

Why not also put in an exit tax for individuals worth above a certain networth, that would make the moving of assets leaa desirable. You shouldn’t build wealth in and off a country’s infrastructure and systems etc and then ditch when they ask you to put some back in. When Sweden put him through school, vaccination programs, 18 years of free dental care, natal care , childcare etc. That was as a societal investment. Not purely out of altruism.

Mmmhm I wonder why. Is it because capital and dividends could be off-shored to decrease tax deductions?

Qobuz, Deezer, Tidal. All these steaming services pay artists more, do not try to push their AI down your throat and don’t have a CEO that calls music “content without production costs”.

If I remember correctly, Spotify has a revenue model that benefits bigger acts while said pay per stream. It makes sense when Spotify sees music as nothing but content to be consumed.

There’s only merch and digital music for monetization, but that’s the way to go anyway if you really want to support some artists.

In the same way that billionaires vacated Mamdani’s New York? (i.e., they made a lot of noise about doing so but none have left.)

    Fine

Let’s put wealth caps in place. Nobody should be worth (or control) over 10 million dollars

Any income over that wealth goes 100% tot taxes

    No more billionaires

    No more centillionaires

    No more wealth hoarding

Governments will now have enough income to pay for universal healthcare, free education, you name it

No more narcissists with all the power

    Sounds like a great idea

Easy as is: Tax money earned for working less while taxing money earned from capital more

Since these fucks think they work more than anyone they should even thank us for that since they work so much and hard.
