They’re not entirely wrong.
Plastic won’t last that long, next!
You know, that old statue was probably painted - not just the bare monochrome brown you see now. Old statues were more ephemeral than you’d think.
Bro doesn’t know some of those are made of the most high quality materials known to man, lol
Gooners are no cheapskates, my guy, they have taste
Plastic.
I saw many of them being made of ceramic
Oh yes, in that case that may well last 10,000 years.
Yea, good ones are ceramic, alloys, even treated wood, resins, afaik.
plastic lasts thousands of years, no?
As micro plastics.
The image on the left has a lot more artistic effort put into it.
horn aside, it really is kind of mind-bogglingly well made. it just straight up looks like a real person, it’s almost unnerving
We don’t?
“Worship” is a truncated way of saying “worth-ship.” It’s about what we give worth to. What you worship is what you give your time, energy, and of course money to. So, yeah, these are definitely worshipped.
They are literally idols.
Yeah I was like, no lies detected….

For some archeologist they’ll just dig up an innocuous jar.
“There’s evidence of organic matter that has decayed over the years, we traced back through our archives of which microorganisms broke down biological matter and their waste products, to determine the origins, but the results were unsettling.”
“It was semen wasn’t it?”
“…it was.”
“And the sculpture inside?”
“…These ancient people had rather niche tastes”

But each of them will dig up dirt really makes you think.
Is the left one really an ancient statue? Not saying no women looked like that at the time but the proportions, style and pose sure seem very “modern coded”.
there’s really nothing about it that wouldn’t have been perfectly feasible for people throughout all history, and if it’s always been possible then it’s safe to assume there’s probably been a culture that’s even more into it than we are.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Apsara
Apsaras are very old and traditional and had sexy thick curves, that’s not a modern thing at all.
I’ll be in my bunk
Ah, ancient India. OK that fits now.
i was gonna say, there’s this indian temple from 1000 CE that is chock full of these statues.
Finally, a religion that makes sense.
Someone postet it in another comment already. It is really an ancient statue: https://collections.lacma.org/object/31379 Made in the year 200.
That thing must be covered in ancient cum.
You may have convinced me that the statue is ancient, but in doing so you’ve increased my belief in time travel.
No, this was just a thing. India also has some thick goddesses. Some examples: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Apsara https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bhumi_(goddess)
From looking around on Wikipedia I do think that most religions from a warmer climate had thick goddesses it just needed the right mixture of culture and artstyle to show it.
It probably was just luck that culture and artstyle aligned enough that a talented sculptor could create a figure that looks allmost modern. Like greece had the hyper realistic statues down before 200 AD, so it’s not a stretch to assume that other cultures could produce such a quality in their own style.
Oh, my comment didn’t mean to imply that the statue came from the future. I mean the goddesses did. No other piece of historical art I’ve seen has these proportions on a woman. My assumption is that women are evolving (or surgically altering themselves) to such an extreme hourglass ratio and will eventually travel back in time and be worshipped as goddesses, for their modern knowledge and incomprehensible technology as well as their dummy thicc hips and chest.
Clearly this makes far more logical sense than “the ideal female form (according to lonely artistic men) has always been unattainable and unrealistic, regardless of era and exposure to hentai.”
So only like, 170 mothers ago
Not yours, then.
Depends what is ancient and modern for you, but statues with those kind of proportions have existed for at least more than 1000 years on the Indian subcontinent.
Tits, tits never change.

I posted this one teehee :3c
When I took Anthropology courses in college, they were always going on about these statuettes and how they represented a “cult of fertility”. Took me years to realize it was just ancient porn.
“Cult of fertility” is just the politically correct form of saying “fapping to stuff”.
I should call her.
she thicc
Would they be wrong, tho?

Fortunately, there’s some intersection.
it’s meee xD
Source for the former?
Probably https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Yakshini this one is in LA California. https://collections.lacma.org/object/31379
“Tutelary” more like “tittylary” ayyy lmao
awooga
Zenless Zone Zero in my Lemmies?!
Makes sense actually.
Does it? I thought hoyo games didnt work on linux
ZZZ and Genshin run no problem using proton. Honkai impact 3rd and star rail didn’t run last time I checked, tho that was over a year ago so they might be playable nowadays.
Star rail works with
sleepy launcherhonkers railway launcherHonkers no?
Right my bad, I was thinking of zzzs launcher
Works on Android, at the very least. Steam lists it as Playable on the Steam Deck, ProtonDB lists it as Gold-level compatibility.
Look up an anime game launcher, the same team makes launchers for all the mainline hoyo games
Zzz also works on Linux out the gate with proton when you install through steam
There is literally nothing that makes more sense than linux fans bringing waifu collections to the masses
Genshin works well enough for me in Wine with Lutris gluing together the config.

I do remember playing some of them with anime launcher long time back so I assume zzz also runs.
Edit: Looks like they have added a lot more now. Not sure why mindustry and factorio is on there, maybe I should check it again. Mindustry with tits are not on my bingo card but wouldn’t be too surprising. https://github.com/an-anime-team/game-integrations/tree/master/games
Been running Genshin on Linux for years.

Ah yes my favourite ancient god Astolfo.
(This is mine).
…and they’ll be right
Well … But … I mean … Isn’t it kinda
