Congressional Progressive Caucus chair Rep. Greg Casar (D-TX), appearing with four progressives who won in swing seats in the midterms, called for Democrats to pass populist legislation “every week” in the next term focusing on corporate corruption, lower costs, and higher wages. The Progressive Caucus, which expects to welcome at least 25 new members, and will begin the upcoming 120th Congress with more than 100, is putting down an early marker on how Democrats should conduct themselves, with what is likely to be one of the biggest House majorities since the early 1990s.

“We have won immense amounts of political power, and now is the most important time to deliver to keep that power,” said Rep. Maxwell Frost (D-FL), a vice chair of the caucus and co-chair of the CPC’s political action committee, which spent millions of dollars in swing seats this year. “The way we’re going to keep Democrats in office is by passing bold pieces of legislation that show you when you vote Democrats in office, your life will get better.”

Rep. Pramila Jayapal (D-WA), a former CPC chair who still co-chairs the PAC, concurred. “We are not popular as a Democratic Party across the country right now,” Jayapal said. “We’ve got a shot to show that we can deliver on the bold populist change people ran on and won on.”

Dear democrats, you have one job the next two years: prosecute criminals and restore order to the country.

If you don’t do this nothing you try to do will matter after that. You’re going to be blamed for everything no matter what does or doesn’t happen, you need to restore rule of law as priority number 1. If you get a dem president in 2028 that’s when your real mandate for societal change starts.

Yep the corruption must be prosecuted and rooted out or this was all for nothing. And while it’s now unlikely that Trump will be physically able to run a third time the people that have been using him to enact their ghoulish dreams will still be around if they are not dealt with

I didn’t vote in the mid-terms and I was glad my optimism wasn’t misplaced because of these turnouts.

But, that doesn’t mean my feelings towards the Democrats after the kind of leanings they have shared earlier this year has budged any. They really knocked the wind out of my motivation to support them when they helped refund ICE and are considering picking foreign laws to instill into American laws.

That’s not how things should be. So if the democrats are smart this round, here’s what you should do:

Do not pass anymore funding for ICE. Just don’t.

Uphold American laws, because this is the United States, not some other nation. Change the laws that don’t make sense that Americans are clamoring to be changed, but keep the same values.

Take it to Trump and for real this time. Stop with the whole finger wagging and “ah, ah, ah” way of attitude towards him and his cronies. It’s obvious he and his administration feel that they’re above everyone, including law and order.

Any Republican-leaning who call themselves Democrats still, oust them and kick them out. They are a problem.

It’s time to undo the damage and restore faith in this country again.

That’s not for you to decide. I live in my country and I am always entitled to an opinion, whether you like it or not.

Why should a politician care about your opinion if you’ve proven that you’re not going to do the most basic ass thing in a democracy and vote to put or keep them in office?

It be more effective of an opinion if you voiced it at the ballot box instead of the soap box there bud.

You chose not to, so now you have to accept the consequences of that.

Casting you vote aside already tells us you don’t care what you have to say, so why should we?
