Similar to this, I’m always saying that if people with kids are only concerned about their own children’s future, then their own children’s future will suffer. If they are worried about all children’s futures, their own children will have brighter futures collectively.

A Maryland renaissance fair set a policy prohibiting furry costumes on the grounds that they spoil immersion but then they allow for other non-period costumes such as Imperial Stormtroopers.
This was news right around the time Tuberville went on his rant about furries in the commercial airline industry, calling on furries to be institutionalized.
First they ban furries from ren fairies, then what’s next. No starfleet officers? What about cranky archaeologists just looking for the right grail?
I always wondered why the dumbest politician in the US (which is an amazing feat in a world where Trump draws breath) was so worked up about furries. It seemed… odd.

Oh, I’m not truly surprised. Though in Tuberville’s case, I think he’s honestly the dumbest motherfucker in every room he’s in. Possibly any continent he’s currently on.
I’m wrapping up the second part of Behind the Batards on Dennis Hastert, and the number of ‘gut the welfare state because of corruption’ while getting tons of lobby bribery or check kiting in their own bank is… not even remotely surprising. Not to mention the legion of hyper moralists who want jeebus in everything while cheating on their mistress.
Yeah I have always said that you can tell a nation by how it treats it’s weakest, most vulnerable people.

Except gun rights. Lemmy doesn’t care about those and wants everyone except the police and military to lose them.
Actually we’d very much like law enforcement and militaries to lose them as well.
Just go to the right places and you will see that many people are pro gun ownership.

It is currently almost impossible for me to legally own a weapon in my country due to me being diagnosed with depression but if I was mentally more stable and didn’t have those legal issues I would probably already have my licence.
The community of Fuck Gun Control seems to be present and I don’t see a way to exclude them, but their ability to make/get guns is different from their right to have and use them.
Until we are all free, we are none of us free.
