I was the one that took the photo, the other fella holding the crowbar was my assistant.

The radiator won’t be going in today, but you gotta start somewhere, and a partly wrecked front end surely wasn’t getting it…

No no, it only gets interesting when you mess up and let the crowbar go…

Please don’t ban me officer 🥺

My man needs a tirfor jack or a mechanical winch. Of course, the dull gentleman uses the tools at hand though.

You can skip the part where someone gets a crowbar in the face, trip to the ER, 24 stitches and other exciting events like that. Just tell us what the weather was like when you went to buy your 5th pack of painkillers.

LOL, I definitely had my concerns as well, hence the need for an assistant. When I took the photo, there wasn’t much stress on the chain and crowbar, we had already bent that top support rail back out almost perfectly straight, so I could let go for a bit to take a couple photos before unwinding it.

Yes, this looks very sus. Maybe dull for a 40 yo mechanic, but not so much for a 20 yo office clerk.

      LMFAO! 😂🤣

I helped the fella yesterday with his vehicle, so he was glad to help with my mom’s car. I just happened to catch him while he was resting on his couch, it didn’t even cross my mind to look at his footwear…

The bumper was difficult (that work not pictured), but the crowbar/chain twist method actually did help pull it out far enough to move the chain more centered behind the main bumper bend.

After that, we moved the chain more centered and put the other vehicle in reverse. We didn’t want to go too far though, the bumper is already half cracked. They hit a tow ball on the back of a truck.

Anyways, looking past the bumper (at least it’s half straight enough to try installing a new radiator soon), I had to use the same chain/crowbar technique on the top support rail for the radiator and the hood latch.

And that’s the picture you’re looking at, pulling out the top support rail to hold the radiator and hood latch.

The technique just might have fully worked for the bumper even, but the crowbar was actually too long and kept hitting the pavement, making it even more dangerous to twist around.

LOL, I hear ya there. Yes, the bumper is still obviously dented, but at least now it’s pulled out enough to be able to fit a new radiator.

It’s gonna be losing the air conditioner though, but that hasn’t worked in over 15 years anyways. Momma doesn’t care, she barely drives it maybe once a month anyways.

To be perfectly honest, the car was already technically totaled out like 10 years ago, mostly from sitting out in the weather and rusting and all the plastics and vinyl dryrotting.

So even before the bumper/radiator incident, it would have already cost more than the car was worth to get it fully fixed and restored. But the engine and transmission still somehow work great, so momma just wants to keep her monthly grocery getter running…
