I went to an “eye institute” at a local hospital cause I had a non traumatic brain injury that gave me (temporary!) blind spots and it was in the same office as a memory clinic, I guess those two go together and there was a sign at the desk, for the memory clinic, about how you needed to remember to have brought something with you, which I thought was funny, a memory clinic requiring you remembered something in order to see you

My adhd clinic ‘misplaced’ my diagnosis several times, I had to email a copy of it to my doctor in the middle of my appointment at one point.

The irony wasn’t lost on me. The doctor didn’t appreciate my pointing it out in the subject line of the email though.

i mean that’s the experience with getting a neurodivergence diagnosis, you have to remember a bunch of times to meet the psychologist and you have to actively reach out to a health clinic to even get the whole process started in the first place.

It’s like it’s all specifically designed to keep ADHD and autistic people from getting a diagnosis
