I get texts. I’ve told them to stop now. I usually go every other year or so. They keep insisting I should go every year, but I haven’t had any massive changes in my vision year-to-year. My glasses usually get worn before my vision changes in a meaningful way.

If that ever were to change I’d of course re-evaluate my intervals.

I need some new glasses because the frame broke on one of them and so I’m down to my backup pair, but I don’t want to order them using an old and possibly slightly wrong Rx and I keep procrastinating on going to the optician for some reason. I think the last time I had my eyes checked was before COVID; I really ought to make an appointment.

Funnily enough, Canada only (partially) pays for vision tests every second year, even with private healthcare, so I have never gotten a yearly eye exam.

It’s probably still cheaper in Sweden than it is in Canada with coverage.

Between my government coverage and workplace private coverage, I still have to pay $100 for the eye exam, and I am blind enough that I have to be choosy with frames or I go over the 2 year limit on cost for my glasses (lenses alone cost >$200 before I add coatings, and I only have $500/2yr in coverage for frames, lenses and contacts put together).

Yeah it’s probably a fair bit cheaper. Haven’t actually looked recently but last time it was free with a pair of glasses. That offer isn’t always available though.
