    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Tortured_Poets_Department

Taylor Swift wrote and produced the album with Jack Antonoff and Aaron Dessner.

Yeah nah. “Produced” means they did all the hirings and firings to create the product to be consumed by clueless idiots.

If things that are mechanically generated are slop, then pop music generated in boardrooms by money machines and consumer analysis is slop.

Those guys are musicians though, not some corporate execs. Not to mention, I’m fairly certain Taylor could make a brutal death metal album and her fans would still buy and listen to it. I’m not convinced she needs some corporately-distilled secret sauce.

those guys are the wet cardboard of musicians. kind of like how taylor is the wet cardboard of pop.

if you like it and it makes you happy, great, this is just my stupid opinion.

yeah, sure. and I’m sure that they all have the same feelings she does and are not in it for the paycheque. In fact, music theoreticians will be working feverishly in an attempt to understand the compositional techremoved they are going to bring forth and change the face of music forever with, just like with the other ones.

slop is slop. it’s soulless and made by a literal billonaire. nothing authentic can come from a person who goes in their private jet to pick up the milk.

to be fair, she writes “more” than the old school pop stars ever did. like she’s in the room at least. but yeah, she definitely isn’t kevin parker-ing this stuff.
