Honestly, I think the mechanisms in NMS and Starfield are both serviceable but not perfect.
What’s funny is I was literally about to reinstall Starfield because I haven’t played the latest update and was in the mood to play around with the ship building again. Then this NMS update came out…
Starfield has the problem with where the doors will be and the confusion with the weapons classes/types. In NMS I don’t like that you need to buy everything in a different screen before assembling them.
Honestly, I’ve taken a break from ship building at the moment because I’ve run into a handful of bugs with the parts in my inventory, e.g. the same parts no longer stacking, parts not showing up in the builder, etc. Hopefully these will get resolved soon.
I’m starting to assemble my corvette and I’ve never thought I’d say something like that, but I prefer the Starfield assembly screen.
