Namibia also punches well above its weight in heavy metal bands, which is probably not a coincidence

Gonna be real, I think both can be related to the fact Namibia was once a German Colony.

I’m shocked the UK didn’t make the list. They seem so much more of alcoholics than the Austrians

A pint or large glass of wine a day is about 10L per year, so yeah, given someone who doesn’t drink alcohol is cancelled out by someone who drinks two pints a day I’m very surprised these numbers aren’t bigger

interesting that US is #20 per capita and china is #46, yet china is still double the states in total consumption

I mean China has like 4 times the US population. Is it really that surprising?

I’m guessing a vast majority of the world doesnt have good data regarding this with how much of it is illegal. Especially in Islamic nations.

when based on alcohol content consumed and not just quantity of beverage, wisconsin doesn’t even rank among the top five u.s. states (which are nh, de, nv, nc, and mt. dc would rank second if it was one). src. one of many found

        Interesting

Not sure why I’m getting downvoted for wanting to compare some populations.

From my understanding and some data I’ve seen Wisconsin has many of the drunkest counties in the country (but to your point I guess not at the state level).

Also the 3rd highest bar to people per capita in the us Data
