This is why it’s silly hearing billionaires, who do the most damage to our planet, telling us how urgently we need to “get off this rock” which has supported life for millions of years in favor of some dead planet. It’s really just an extension of capitalism that demands infinite space to exploit, instead of being content with sustainability.

Americans may be surprised to find that foreigners actually don’t pay as much attention to US elections as they think. Even many people in the US don’t care, they’re just inundated with media coverage of it. At most about 66% of eligible voters even vote and the people that do vote aren’t necessarily informed. You may have seen interviews with undecided voters. They turn up to vote but haven’t necessarily put much thought into it.

As an aside, I find it funny when Americans scream about other countries empire building and carrying out provocative military exercises when the US has so many military bases everywhere. You don’t need to officially annex land to control it, that’s old style thinking.

Seeing as biden gave billions in support of israel while they carried out this genocide for over a year, the moniker is well-earned. Hopefully you do some self-reflection to realize that both parties full-throatedly support israel. The other guy being worse is not an excuse to support genocide. Democrats will keep talking about how much worse republicans are while moving to the right in pace with them.

The US has been involved in war for almost every single year of its existence, so actually it’s easy to say even when one’s home country is involved in a war.

What about the veterans on the other side of those wars? Do you celebrate them as a “super man” (übermensch)? I’m sure they thought they were fighting for a good cause too.

Panic buying like this only leads to more price increases. I just buy the minimum, like usual.

It’s a possibility, but I wouldn’t say it’s guaranteed. Presidents enjoy an immunity that is not afforded to most others. He got impeached twice and has had a bunch of court cases against him but what has that meant? There is no chance in hell that democrats would actually pursue putting him in jail so basically he has no consequences to face. He’ll carry out his second term as president, do all sorts of awful things, and then he’ll leave without democrats pursuing any punishments. If george w bush can escape without being arrested as the war criminal that he is, then trump doesn’t stand a chance at punishment either, so he has no reason to install a dictatorship to save himself.

So yeah, I wouldn’t sweat an explicit dictatorship when the rich already completely control the system. It’s much easier to horde wealth while pretending we have a democracy and the pretense of legitimacy that brings than it is with an overt dictatorship. You can see this with people online making all sorts of excuses for this “democracy” of ours.

There’s no doubt that trump will be bad for the country, but he also says a lot of things like how he’d lock up hillary clinton. At this point all we can do is buckle up and hope for the best.

That democrats weren’t even willing to budge on their support for genocide means that they don’t actually mind fascism. They can scream on and on about how dangerous trump is, but when they’re kissing dick cheney’s ass and trying to court other such “moderate” fascists, then they’re just full of shit. So yes, it is largely the fault of democrats, who are the only other viable party in the country, for not fighting fascism. They set themselves up as the only solution and then failed to get the votes. Reminder that this is the same party boosting the campaigns of far-right candidates just so they can point at how crazy their opponents are. All they’re accomplishing is helping out the fascist cause, which again, democrats don’t seem to mind based on their actions.
