I hope we don’t see that in Canada. We definitely looked that way last election but the yellow party had a pretty weak showing and the red party took a lot of votes to prevent the blue party from winning. Hopefully things reset a bit next election.

Linux@lemmy.ml•do you see linux ever having 10 - 20 % market share in desktop space?
3·2 days agoI mean only Linux as the product is released with only Linux offered by the company, as in not a choice between Windows and Linux. Linux first by design.

25·2 days agoFor the education sector and software developer sector these numbers are already met and well exceeded. For the consumer desktop, yes, I think so. I think some big company other than Valve and Google will sell a Linux desktop machine, be it x86 or ARM. When most of the stuff consumers use is through the browser, OEMs clinging to Windows is not going to last forever.
Half Life, and by extension Couter Strike, are still totally playable and enjoyable today.
Edit: and AoE 2

Grippy sock vacation

My parents had a few old barbeques that they didn’t want. My dad said to put them out at the road, and I thought it was a waste of time. The next time I looked out they were gone. Somebody got their $3 of scrap at least.
