As a trans girl who lives in the middle of nowhere: help, I need to be near people and not cows. Mooooooo
I’ll have you know, I actually live in a decent size city… By arctic standards. But there are plenty of hot trans girls here.
That place looks damn cozy. Little bit small for a polycule tho’.
“Wow, I can’t believe a no-name hick from bumfuck nowhere managed to bisect the genocide dodecahedron. Maybe my extremely average self can do it.”
(The no-name hick was actually half god and didn’t need to listen to his stupid stepdad anymore and could stay up past 10 on school nights)
Is this a Percy Jackson reference or something?
It’s just a reference to some stories that start out with an initially unimportant “the one” character. See: Star Wars at least 5 times across canon and non-canon that I know of, every cartoon, and air bud.
The no-name main character is initially meant to offer the audience the fantasy that they might, themselves, pull up their bootstraps and become the coolest dude (gender neutral) around. Then, in the 11th hour, perhaps even the 28th hour, they come out and say that the character was always destined for greatness because of their lineage. Which is lame, and I’m still so fucking pissed about rey
The Last Jedi might’ve been a bit cringe, but I much preferred that direction for her character than her being Palpatine’s granddaughter or something.

the hero of a thousand faces usually comes from a common, rural background
