Zionists are objectively fomenting anti-Semitism by doing some of the worst shit the Nazis and earlier Euro anti-Semites accused Jews of is one of the most horrifying side-effects of their genocidal shit and I think these monsters like the lady in the OP know this and do it on purpose in the hopes that more people buy into the Zionist claim that Jews can only be safe by carving out their own ethnostate.

    It’s so fucking bleak yall.

Generous, “a holocaust” implies a somewhat general opposition to genocide. A lot of people only seem to think that it was bad that they invaded Western European countries and killed Jewish people. yea

I am constantly thwarted by the generosity I extend to my enemies despite considering myself entirely cynical and ruthless when it comes to them.

FR, I feel this way constantly. I think it is ultimately a good thing to empathize even with the people you might believe should be wiped from the face of the earth. Many are simply misguided and misled even if they ultimately might have to be done away with by one means or another for the greater good.

We are the bearers of this burden and while I believe that violence as last resort is inevitable, hurting others hurts us. I’ve thrown down many a time and even in the most justified instance hurting another being always hurts me too. Whether it’s a tick or another human it never feels good to take a life or harm another being. When it comes to another human it is less so, as I have always tried to reason before coming to blows it doesn’t lessen the lingering impact much.

I’ve hurt a lot of people that definitely “deserved it” but each time I feel like it kills a part of myself. The important thing to do is to remain aware of these things and not allow vengefulness to completely consume us. That is where it gets dangerous. We must cling to our empathetic instincts like we would a life raft in a violent storm. We are all the hope in the world and if we let that righteous fury consume us it can lead to something terrible even with the best of intentions.

I feel you. I just don’t know how many people on this site have actually participated in the amount of or kind of violence they (justifiably) endorse. It isn’t a path you can come back from. I try to be as pacifist as I can be these days but it has been less than two months since I “relapsed”. It was justified, but again, this is something you must engage with grave consideration. Every blow is a blow at your own humanity. I understand this more than likely most people on this forum understand. And if you are wondering, no I have never been a part of the imperialist war machine, all I have done has been of my own accord.

War may never change, but war changes you. And not for the better, even in the best cases.

Replying to this well involves getting into some personally identifiable things…but ive seen and have had to hage been involved in some really violent stuff and like 30 people I know died in 2 years from fent, 11 were fairly close, one had threatened my roomste with a tire iron for coke money while I was asleep despite us being good friends prior and died a month or so later and I felt nothing. I have a few similar situations they crossed a line and I either didnt care or was glad they died.

Sorry to reply to you in three different places, but I thought it would be worth mentioning that while I absolutely reject the idea of anyone “deserving” to suffer because “deserving” is a counterproductive and moralistic framework, it might be possible from what you say that you are effectively respecting them too much on an intellectual level, whatever affectation you have on a moral level. It took me a long time to really internalize that feeling respect for shitlibs is an error that will derail how you think and how you approach things. Speaking respectfully and believing in human potential are broadly good things, but one needs to simultaneously cement in their mind that there is nothing too foolish or despicable for them to say, no lie too blatant, no rhetoric too underhanded, no low too low. It’s all just a matter of if you happen to draw it out or not.

I think ive already said, there a line, and its pretty far beyond crossed regarding my empathy and im pretty happy with the level ive got, its not low, crimes against humanity are just like…a really big deal to me. And part of me likes revenge a lot. The best revenge is always living well. But that high road requires basically the same steps as the low road. So whether im feeling mad or hopeful im covered.

Revenge is 100% a social-emotional pathology, that’s not what I’m talking about. I’m talking about how one fairs in terms of thinking on their feet talking to these people, that intellectual respect can put your expectations so out of wack (see your “generosity”) that when they surprise you with how terrible they are, it can throw you off. That’s all.

I think the easiest way to explain it is with what we specifically see here, where literal, on-video murder gets called “blood libel” by people and institutions that get mostly-uncritical mainstream play. Like, what better strategy is there for getting people to not take the accusation of blood libel seriously, or even to believe blood libel myths, then to conflate the term with straightforward, objective cases of cold-blooded killing?

Normies dont know what blood libel means. I mean normies having absolutely no idea what the nazis were about aside from invade countries kill jews. Most people think the sole reason Hitler came to power was so he could kill jews amd all ww2 axis actions were in the name of king jews. At least in my public education and subsequent being around local normies. Thar being said the majority of said normies know what Israel is doing is a genocide and absolutely evil despite all of that cause they have hearts. Turns out ee dont need to make it that complicated anyway.

I dislike “normie” talk. Regardless, you are right that the general public isn’t familiar with blood libel as a term, or at least very many are unaware of it. You know what a very effective way of making them aware of it has been? Connecting it to current events! Many more people know the term now than in 2020, and more learn each day, and it serves basically no purpose but to encourage people to view Jews as historical villains, i.e. to make people fascists.

I’m always surprised when no one understands the underpinnings of WWII and what fascism is or how it always starts or what it promises to solve in a broken nation.

But then, I’m the only person in my IRL circles who refers to it as the Great Patriotic War, and one of only three who know the Nazis targeted trans people first (and one of those other two only knows that much because he’s trans and one of those left anarchists - he’s a pain, but he’ll probably come around when he’s older and infighting with him gets me nowhere so I just shut up when he talks politics), so I shouldn’t be that surprised. And I’m not. I’m pleasantly surprised when anyone I actually know understands that WWII was about more than the Holocaust and that fascism is about far more than genociding a single scapegoat group, because that is a surprisingly high bar to clear. When I hear a fellow Western person use the term “Great Patriotic War” though, I do expect that they know at least as much as I do, but I’ll forgive not knowing much about the Western Allies, if they know a reasonable amount about the Soviets. I’ve never been let down too badly in that context, at least.

In light of my last reply, I truly believe that the person in the op probably cannot face reform and belongs in a forced labor camp for the rest of her life. I still would not want to kill her though. The ones that actually facilitate or carry out said killings, absolutely. No good can come from keeping them around.

Or maybe I am wrong on this too and given our ideal circumstance a lifetime of labor in service of those they have oppressed or attempted to exterminate is more productive and a fate worse than death. I don’t know if we will see that in my sadly limited years left on this planet so maybe it is moot. I just want the violence to stop. All of it. I am tired of fighting.

I don’t care if Fartlow lives or dies in someone’s Central Park fantasy, so let me be clear that I’m only arguing this for the sake of the broad ability to assess people. Fartlow can be reformed. Humans are capable of changing massively, even if old habits die hard. It is not as visible to us, but she does not just exist with this malignance in a vacuum, she is a minor appendage of a massive cultural apparatus.

Rehabilitation principally isn’t a matter of taking people with negative karma meters and making them positive (speaking in terms of shitty ps3/4 era video games), it is a matter of taking them out of the environments that facilitate a positive feedback loop for bad behaviors and attitudes and putting them in environments that reward being constructive instead.

I believe that reform is possible, but in some cases, like hers, likely only through force.

Well yes, people usually don’t reform themselves and the systems that make them this way usually resist non-violent methods of reorganizing them. Fartlow, though, is fundamentally a pathetic person that poses no threat as an individual - she’s not a leader, she’s a follower, to put it in binary terms. This is the person who was afraid of a “Free Parking” sign. If you put her in an environment that rewards not being a genocidal monster (as @purpleworm@hexbear.net said), then she would likely stop being a genocidal monster fairly quickly because, as I said, she’s pathetic and I doubt she has actual convictions of any kind about anything.

During the lifetime of great revolutionaries, etc. etc. yes I know.

I just don’t want to be the soldier anymore. I want to cook, I want to create, I want to entertain the little ones, I want to teach!

Unfortunately history and our material conditions has chosen a different path for me. I am capable of incredible violence and it is a thing I both cherish and must reckon with. It is not a good thing but a thing I recognize will be regrettably necessary.

Absolutely. Some people need to be forced (as most people already acknowledge about rehabilitation to some degree), I just think the outcome of that force can be a successful rehabilitation and a happy life where someone can engage in a constructive and genuine way with their community.

On a recent Chapo episode, they described that recent “God says bullying to enforce gender norms is good” girl as being the Glass Joe that they’d put Andrea Dworkin against if she just got out of jail and needed a tune-up fight like Mike Tyson did.

I think Fartlow is sort of like that in the hasbarist power rankings.
