The Counter-Revolution of 1776:Slave Resistance and the Origins of the United States of America.

As the United States of America, celebrate its independence anniversary declared on 4th July, 1776, we take a look at the history of America, the events that led to declaration of independence, and most importantly why declaration of independence was not a cause for celebration among all Americans, particularly for the native Americans and the enslaved African Americans. “For Native Americans, it may be a bitter reminder of colonialism, which brought fatal diseases, cultural hegemony and genocide. Neither did the new republic’s promise of “life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness” extend to African Americans. The colonists who declared their freedom from England did not share their newly founded liberation with the millions of Africans they had captured and forced into slavery.”

The so-called Revolution was according to Professor Gerald Horne, was a ‘Counter-Revolution’ a conservative effort by American colonists to protect their system of slavery. Contrary to anonymous role often assign to African Americans in the American Revolution (which Prof. Gerald Horne refer to as Counter-Revolution) the prof. lucidly outline their roles and their major impact. The book is a great shift in paradgim.

Professor Gerald Horne, is the author of the book “The Counter-Revolution of 1776: Slave Resistance and the Origin of the United States of America.”

I think autism rizz is real because the couple of times I interact with neurotypical people and say something that sounds corny as hell and mean it they look at me with eyes of wonder as they can’t detect sarcasm in my voice or my face creature I don’t care of their opinions of me I’m gonna say what I want

    • No dude like you’re like, you’re figuring it out, dawg, so like, you’re a different person to everyone you meet, as much as you don’t know how to interpret their interactions, neither do they yours, and part of that is that when you say even ridiculous things with confidence, people have to have a moment to appraise that. it’s a power to use, like witchcraft

Americans shorten “mathematics” to just “math” but they refer to “sport” as a whole as “sports”. Not to mention they put an S on the end of “Lego” in the same vein. I just can’t with these people

(not here to argue your point, just commiserating)

It’s worse the more you learn too, all the dumb regional variations and idioms are so annoying. Having moved around the country a few times it’s so so annoying to talk to people and get the "oh X? You mean Y?!? smuglord " treatment all the time. If it makes you feel better, people that live a few hundred kilometers from each other here hate the way each other talk way more than you could ever.

Weird question but is Thailand like Colombia when it comes to sexpats, only with trans women? Every time Thailand gets brought up there’s always “hilarious” fetish jokes about the trans women there. It reminds me of how foreigners talk about Colombia and Latin America with the women.

Just saw a post on rednote about how Thailand was one of the major R&R (rest n relaxation) spots for deployed US soldiers during the invasion of Vietnam. According to the posters there, the GI’s insatiable lust became a lucrative industry and effeminate Thai men recognized they could entertain GI’s by role-playing as women/girlfriends. It was an interesting perspective but I have no knowledge of the history of gender in Thailand. I suspect the population already existed in the culture but capitalism and imperialism turned it into an industry? Idk
