seriously, why are there 8119 battalions in the IDF? i know it varies country to country, but in the US a battalion is typically 2+ companies of a few hundred guys, or like 500-600 people, though it can be up to 1,000. so at the low average end, we’re talking over 4 million. is everyone with citizenship just assigned a battalion for life when they turn 18 like a social security number, and they keep making new ones until an old one has no members left alive, then it gets recycled?
