“I’m sort of suing myself,” Donald Trump said openly in the months before he sued the IRS for $10 billion. Now, unless his private lawyers succeed in overturning a judge’s sanctions order on appeal, the president may well have to pay the legal fees of former judges and ex-IRS officials who opposed the case in a way the DOJ never did.

Trump filed an expedited motion on Friday asking U.S. District Judge Kathleen Williams to halt her sanctions order and “related proceedings” until the president’s “Anti-Weaponization Fund”-focused appeal runs its course at the 11th Circuit.

When Biden said “Would you shut up, man?” that should have been it. A cathartic release and then a decisive electoral defeat.

But we’re still here. He’s still talking. Still ruining shit. I’m so done, dude.

Honestly, unless a miracle occurs - usa is cooked.

Even if trump and all the fascists were removed ;) ;) today and a competent government put in place so much damage has been done economically that it would take a couple decades at least to get back on the right track on a global scale.

And that’s not taking into account all the other problems we face.

Climate change is real and only getting worse which means crops will be harder to grow in general and practically impossible at larger scale.

We’ve thrown away so much of our weapons stockpiles commiting war crimes that our force projection bubble is getting smaller and smaller and without a strong economy we won’t be able to replenish those stocks. Leading to a real risk of invasion/long range attacks on U.S.A soil .

It’s not like an invasion is gonna happen tomorrow, but “neighbors with guns” ain’t gonna stop one if it did happen. Not unless all your neighbors also happen to have fleets of attack aircraft, a ton of anti aircraft rounds, millions of rounds of ammo , the logistics to move all that stuff around and so on.

I’m not sure I understand what power is going to try to put soldiers on the streets on the US. Seems pretty unlikely to me.

LW and LML replace certain words with ‘removed’, which your app may be considering censored. Based on context I believe the removed was part of the post text.

Hmm how are you viewing the post? What was censored is the word removed in italics so maybe it’s a glitch? I still see the original post. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I’m viewing this in the iOS app Mlem. But I guess it is a bug/misinterpretation by the app— here it is on the mobile site:

Very rarely, I have seen this before. Some instances do filter certain keywords, and replace it with the word ‘removed’ in italics, which triggered my app.

Instances in certain countries (like feddit.de in Germany) have to obey local laws about certain no-no words I think.

As a socialist, that likely would have been it. If Biden had just kept his promise and stuck to running for one term.

This all started when the Republicans so blatantly profited from Bobby Kennedy’s murder.
The strangest thing of all is that there are **no conspiracy theories ** about this assassination.

I was in the US between April 14 and June 5, 1968 - and the excitement was unreal. RFK was a shoo-in for President. If you weren’t there, you didn’t feel it and have no idea.

Double his sanctions everytime Trump’s lawyers put forward another frivolous “expedited” motion.
