Is this referencing something going on in the world of right-wing weirdos right now? My daughter was complaining yesterday that all the evangelicals on her cross country team (everyone but her) were talking about how women shouldn’t be pastors.
I think the Southern Baptist Convention is having a big fit about that. Apparently a lot of local churches are amending their founding documents to specify that women cannot be pastors in their churches. I think the Convention even made a rule that if a Southern Baptist church had a woman pastor, then they’d be ejected from the Convention. Mom was teaching at one of those churches, and they were going to ask her to leave before a group of congregants begged them to let her teach. (It wasn’t really religious teaching, more of a parenting thing based on modern brain science) People in the church kept raving about women pastors in this city when there isn’t even one. The pastor of the church is just riling up the people with hatred of women.
