    You cannot shame a cat.

    You can shame a dog. “Rover, did you break the lamp? Did you break the lamp?” Rover bows his head, looks guilty as hell, whines.

    You cannot shame a cat. “Fluffy, did you break the lamp?” Fluffy looks up, says “Yes I did, it was louder than the slamming gates of hell. You’re gonna need a new one.” and starts washing a paw.
