As if this makes any difference to an average Republican and some Democrats. US people panic when they hear socialism even if it’s refered to social democratic state which essentially is a hybrid between liberal economy with socialism so that the worst part of the two systems are removed or diminished.

That is to say that USA wouldn’t need to turn into Soviet Union to become a social democracy and could have benefits of both systems. Unfortunately the brains have been in the washing for way to long by the wealthy elites as they are the only ones that would lose in such system.

So this is exclusive to Norwegian companies? Companies from the US don’t pollute in other countries?

      Need some more straw, man?

The types of companies that are allowed to operate and the bounds in which they are allowed to operate absolutely define countries. Norway has a capitalist economy, which allows this kind of company to thrive.

Yes. Socialism and capitalism can go hand in hand. No need to focus your 1 brain cell on one or the other. Grow a few new ones and consider having healthcare socialized for starters.

the image refers to the average hog’s image of Norway. and also when people say socialist when they refer to european countries they mostly mean policies, not the entire economic system. universal healthcare is an example.

“Socialist hell”, the joke is about what Americans say every time someone says that maybe, just maybe the government could invest the tiniest bit into the well being of its people. Often enough they lose their shit, calling you a communist for suggesting an idea that’s not even barely left.

Do you actually not get it, or just using the opportunity to dunk on Norway? Cus like, fair I guess.

So their tax is lower and their public services are better? Makes you wonder where all the US tax revenue is going…

The company tax is slightly lower. The previous poster stated something about capitalism. The best way to curb hording of capital is by the companies paying taxes.

Ordinary working people probably pay a higher tax in Sweden than in USA, but that’s a different discussion.
