Windows 10 is close to being dead now, with support ending this year. So why not try out Linux? Instead of getting a whole new system and having to deal with the increasing amount of AI junk and adverts in Windows 11.
That’s exactly what I did when my computer started bugging me with reminders to upgrade to windows 11. Love linux mint and have not had any issues that took more than 15 minutes to resolve so far.
I did that just before the tariffs were announced. Kept the old PC (Win 10) but haven’t turned it on since except to copy some files. Games, .NET development, everything I need working just fine. Can’t see any reason to ever go back.
If you are going to replace your computer with a new one, you lose nothing by installing Linux on it to see how it is. Linux Mint is a good option.
