    You’re right, not everything needs more. It’s not a problem if shows are short, even just one season, as long as they actually end.

    Shows could easily be written so their stories fit a season, just like movies are made whose story fits in 2 hours.

    But they aren’t - because the producers always choose to go with an unresolved cliffhanger to keep the hype for a possible next season, even though they know shows these days are cancelled more than they are renewed.

    The issue is ambition and greed getting in the way of writing stories that actually finish and have closure.

    And I hate that because it really disrespects us, the viewers.

      Examples:

      ‘Star Trek’ only voyaged 3 of 5 years (unless you count the animated series.)

      Life itself, under normal circumstances (unless you are a flower or rich human)
