You know that it’s a pop history podcast with a focus on funny takes, right? Like, when he “criticizes” some horrible dictator for not getting a higher body count, that’s a joke. Many of his guests are comedians, so if (say) Billy Wayne Davis, or (say) Gareth Reynolds said something like what you refer to, and Evans said “right” and they both laughed, it’s because they’re enjoying a joke.
You should probably know that Blue Apron doesn’t have a child hunting island in Indonesia, and Robert Evans doesn’t actually want to nuke the Great Lakes as revenge for the Edmund Fitzgerald.
