“My politicians” are not arguing that prices increasing by a bit makes it okay for prices to increase by a lot. I’d argue that most of them would say that a little bit of inflation is good for the economy while hyperinflation is bad. Which I interpret as them knowing that “a little” is not the same as “a lot”.
