Goodnight all :)
I’m excited and nervous to meet my cousin. I’m happy to help out even if we weren’t related.
Alright.
Running around getting stuff done for the trip.
Stressed but excited.
When are you heading up? Hopefully it’ll be lovely and sunny, Sydney is beautiful in the sunshine.
Tomorrow arvo. No idea what the plan other than catch up with my cousin.
Got the hotel booked and that’s about it lol
Play it by ear.
There’s a magpie singing. Does it not have a clock? It’s 4:30am. Whyyyyy.
Ahhh pre-spring in Melbourne. My old place had a blackbird pair that nested right outside my bedroom and every year about this time would be their little songs at 4am
Today feels like a lot
I agree. Yiiikes.
Salted Caramel Twix Review: The OG is better. Still, it’s perfectly acceptable and wouldn’t resist to buy it again, but it looked like it had been snatched up my local, not sure if it’s having a viral moment (god I hate that) or just something behind the scenes.
Speaking of viral moments, if anyone is into pork knuckles, word at work is that the Woolies boxed version is way better than it deserves to be.
Why does the thought of soup for lunch always feel so unappealing, but then you have it and it’s delicious and you wonder why you don’t have it more often?
It’s so cheap and so good for winter.
My guts needs to chew something so unless it comes with a crusty bread roll it’s just flavoured water to me.
i’ve got some cheese & herb scrolls I made to go with it. I think they need to be a bit cheesier though, and the next batch I might add some bacon too. If I don’t have something like that cheese on toast is my preference for vegetable soups.
I think I subconsciously associate soup with bad things - like being sick, poor, etc, when in reality it really is so delicious.
Still never met a pumpkin soup I like though.
like being sick
Me too. After making so many for ol’ girl over the last few years I’m skipping right past it if I’m ever out at a restaurant. Shame really because some of the ones I’ve when out years ago have been amazing. If the soup has solids that’s okay but if just pureed no can do :(
I was never given soup when I was sick, so it can’t be that. Sick food was always dry crackers and flat lemonade.
Pumpkin soup is often pretty yucky. I don’t mind it with a reasonable amount of curry in it, or the one I had today had a lot of chicken stock to give it flavour. Pumpkin on it’s own is just boring mush that is often a bit too sweet. It also had a fair few other vegetables in it, so it wasn’t just watered down pumpkin puree like a lot seem to be.
Sickie I reckon 🪿. New pillow is great but i still slept like shit.
I believe I shall join you. From a great distance, without a new pillow.
Weird voodoo electron issues.
Go down the block to see if the pump was working as the hose wasn’t turning on. Turn pump off and on… whirring noise and clunk!
Go back into the house to find a whole bunch of power sockets don’t work… checks fuse box… all good… hrmmm.
Thankfully have a whole bunch of long extension cords. Disaster averted. Back freezer was one of sockets that didn’t work. yikes.
Story time. when I was a kid ol’ boy thought it be a good way to save $ and turn the mains off when he left in the middle of summer. 2 weeks later when we got back down here…I still remember the smell. Had a black lab at the time who decided to roll around in the stuff we pulled out onto the lawn when we weren’t looking. Had a lovely time.
Edit: FIXED! had to physically remove the pump from the outlet fiddle with the safety switch in the fuse box. Hooray.
Oh my god that story. That would be traumatising for sure!
Poor doggo was a sleep inside doggo, but for about a month she was an outside doggo. Endless amounts of baths (which she hated) lol.
I’ve been baby stepping one of our clients through our new AML process, and thought I’d got them through with all boxes ticked etc. after far too much telephone time. Today received an email from them that finished “Thank you for your time tomorrow”. Alas, I fear that will be all too true. Pray for me.
Made it. Now I relax

I’ve got that funny thing going on at work where the team have just discovered something I’ve known about for years and are obsessed with it. They learned what UTM codes are for link tracking and want to use them for everything. Yeah, you can use them, but you need to actively track their performance. And a lot of programs just build them into things these days
I asked Boyo what he would be his last meal if he could choose. He dove into that his choice would be changed by what kind of death he was facing, and why, what kind of emotions he might like to have during that meal or what he might like to avoid. There was a lot of thought put into it with different options for the different scenarios.
My response: “Lobster mac and cheese. No question."
Where is the coffee cart…
it's only Tuesday, c'mon...

Job interview tomorrow. Only a few hours a week but should be cool. Have to teach a maths problem that I am still figuring out how to explain.
Good luck!
