    I’m so pissed.

my FOO didn’t tell me or my daughter that my father, her grandpa had died.

    over two years ago

    she’s really upset

here’s the thing, miss seagoon has had regular contact with two uncles and a cousin the whole time and none told her

I know what happened, the two golden children, my older sisters, took control of all the event and took control of information

all the others are too scared to do the right thing or be themselves

it really shows what the family dynamic is, what they think of us and how much they care

    miss seagoon cried

I have unresolved anger , my father was a bad man who physically and mentally abused his wife and children, causing life long problems

    my sibs are awful

Fucking wow! That takes prolonged intentional decision making. Awful is a mild word for it. Many kitty squishes 🐈‍⬛

I’m so sorry. Even when we know someone is not a good person, it’s still hurtful when they do things like this. It’s so hard. I also have crappy family, so I understand that people like this exist. But you’re a good person and that’s what counts. The shame is on them.

That’s terrible, I’m sorry you had to find out so far after the fact. You’ve been working through so much of your trauma, I’m sorry your “family” isn’t helping you like they should. Sending gentle hugs and warmth. I hope Miss Seagoon gets to make peace. She can still have contact with the uncles and cousin or has this soured it for her?

Oh man…that’s fucked up. Poor miss seagoon and sending gentle vibes your way too. I can’t conceive of behaving like that.

and it is fucked up, why wouldn’t they tell her when they were in contact the whole time

Brawn acquired in the form of a mate’s younger brother. He shall be paid, fed & beer’d appropriately for the many stairs. I still feel utterly shite and unslept. No-doze does nothing. My weird coffee reaction can’t be just caffeine. No idea.

    what a great story

    what a great movie

made and told so well, the heart of the story is all there, the details not so much but that’s not important

    sets and costume so good

    I also relate

    4 hobbits

I’ve rearranged my office desk just a smidge and the muscle memory is struggling. Keep going to file things on the right when they’re now on the left.

I have this switching between keyboards in different offices. One is split, so the function keys end up in totally different places.

Oh god, that’s way too big of a difference. For a while I was using 4 different keyboards in my daily life, but at least they were all the “same” layout. Not helped by one of the computers has a beautiful habit of switching languages every time it gets locked.

One of mine switches languages too. I generally prefer the split board, but this new system has shortcuts on keys that can’t be reassigned. Grump.

Interesting the first thing Facebook shows me when I open it is someone expressing their support for One Nation. This guy added me years ago, never interacted with him beyond that. But that’s what Facebook shows me. Very clear what the algorithm there is trying to do

YL has been looking after a couple of dogs for about a week now. She walked in the front door and she heard a voice, she froze, looked at the dog’s and asked “OK. Who spoke”? It spoke again and that’s when she realised there was a vacuum with a human voice that she didn’t realise was there.

Question of the day: When have you had something speak to you unexpectedly where you’ve nearly shit your pants?

Neighbour is going away for a few weeks and was asking if I’d keep an eye out / mail stuff. Sort of neighbour with no filter / boundaries just rocks over (have no problems she’s basically family).

Anyway was having a shower but had the sound system really cranked. Got out, walked into the living room to see her bopping along to this.

Seeing a well to do 83 yr old lady getting down to some pretty heavy DnB is pretty much peak existence.

Seconding the first two mummy movies lol. My go to “don’t think too hard” films include those two films and:

        • Van Helsing (2004)
        • Ice Age
        • Monsters Inc
        • The Scorpion King (2002) it’s a guilty pleasure
        • Labyrinth and The Dark Crystal
        • The Muppet Movie (1979)
