Was the donkey black?
In the first article I read about this, the property explained that the officers didn’t even consult the property about executing the search on their property. I’m certain if the officers had consulted the family, they could have arranged to put the animals in a safe location so the officers could search for the girl.
But they didn’t, because the police don’t give a fuck. I hope they fire this clown and the family sues the department for everything they have.
and the family sues the department for everything they have.
Unfortunately, the law generally doesn’t recognize ‘pain and suffering’ or ‘emotional anguish’ damages in cases involving death/injury to an animal. Generally, courts view animals strictly as property, so it would be taken as a ‘damage to property’ case, and damages would be limited to the replacement value of the donkey. Maybe also the cost of disposing of the body. Not sure what baby miniature donkeys go for these days, but it can’t be more than a few thousand at most. And that’s if the court agrees that shooting the donkey was unreasonable and unnecessary … which I wouldn’t hold my breath on – they tend to side with the cops most of the time.
And let the cop rot in jail, right? Right??

It’s got an acorn!
Officer Trenton Garner wrote that he fired one shot after the donkey charged toward officers and an attempt to scare it away with a Taser did not work, according to the Cedartown Police Department incident report.
“I tried all the ways I could force it to stop.”
It’s always brute force with cops. Hire the dumbest people and get the worst approaches to the easiest problems.
The Polk County K-9 handler removed his Taser and activated its electrical arc in an attempt to discourage the animal, but Garner said the donkey continued toward them
He turned on a hand tazer. The donkey didn’t respond to a 2 in arc of electricity, so he shot him. No warning shot, or anything either.
Okay, I thought I read it that way and I was confused as to what that was supposed to have done.
I suppose that compared to acorns falling on a car, this must’ve felt like a real threat to this cop. 🙄
It was in a pen.
They shouldn’t have been in the pen anyway. Trespassing without a warrant.
Also. Who tf gets in a random pen on a farm?
You don’t know what’s in there.
Could be a bull out where you can’t see. Or a moose. Emus. I mean. It’s just plain stupid.
Cops when there is a shooter loose, just going to get another pack of donuts,
vs.
Cops when a baby donkey runs towards them, “i’m in danger”!

a MINIATURE donkey no less. Friggin blood hounds that were with them were probably bigger and more aggressive than this thing. and after looking at the neckbeard back yard yolkel photo of the cop yeah it doesn’t surprised me why he’d be so scared. hope the dude never comes across a squirrel with an acorn, he’ll likely get PTSD.
A baby miniature donkey.
Tiny baby looking for interaction and affection.
this cop thought an acorn was a gunshot and proceeded to unload into his own car, where he had a guy on the back…
Miniature Donkeys are known to cause hundreds of senseless human deaths each year. Shit, no, wait, that’s cops.
Those are the urban pigs.
Next time he should do the world a favor and shoot himself instead.
A gang of armed thugs trespassing on private property don’t have a right to self defense.
It had 4 legs and fur. Might as well have been a dog to a pig.
“I’m a cop. I can’t just go on a call and not shoot something.”
“explains”
Not Lil Sebastian!
“Israel also rejected allegations” Fucking lmao.
OK, Israel is a terrible surname
It’s a terrible lots of things.
Guess what, it is also a first name. Poor people.
