I get your point of view, but I didn’t want to buy from Apple either. Before the purchase I knew how locked down iOS is.

I’m sorry, I should’ve been more specific. I meant that by offering a one-stop “just works” solution, they make it easy for schools in my country to implement their system, which in theory works good, and locking them into their expensive system.
For example, presenting works wirelessly using their proprietary Apple TV. App Management works on their OS only. Have a file to share? Just airdrop it (lol) and so on.
That way you don’t have a choice as a teacher or worse student, you either buy into their system or are the weird annoying guy, that has to ask the teacher every time if they can, upload it at …

The education space? I don’t know what you mean. Schools in my country give kids Chromebooks, and in university they can use what they like.
