Welcome to Costco - I love you.
Welcome to Costco I love you

This Idiocracy Prequel looks low effort.
But The Sequel is AMAZING.
lets get a starbucks from costco. There isn’t time to get a handjob dufus
I got my lawyers degree from Costco.
Closer view.

ah yes, the documentary idiocracy
At this point they should build a second floor in the Costco to save some horizontal space
I thought that was the joke. I saw Costco, in a news story, was building 2 stories where the top is Residential zoning. This is the internet so it could’ve been fake but it sounded like a good idea to have mixed housing. My apartment would only have Kirkland products if I didn’t have to go anywhere
I’ve long yearned to see dead malls turned into mixed zoning areas. Turn a section into cheap studio apartments, slap in a grocery store, basically make a micro-city. I’m at the point in my life where I need my own space, but when I was a young 20 something, not having to get in my car to go places would have been a fucking godsend.
Also because it is my mission to shill Kirkland whenever I can, their granola bars are insane value for price. 64 for like 9 bucks. 100 calories, low sugar, very damn tasty. The dishwasher pods suck ass though, don’t get those. Residue for days.
It’s nice to feel listened t9
The best part are the trash fires.
The sad irony here is that Costco is by far one of the lesser evil companies, and so thus, more likely to be accepted and this become a reality.
Better a Costco than a Walmart, ask a Costco employee how they’re treated compared to Walmart.
I’m 50+ and have never seen a Costco in the wild.
That is, coincidentally, wild.
Where do you live? And do you never travel? It’s so odd to never see a Costco.
I live in a big city. Walmarts everywhere. But for whatever reason Costcos were only built on the other side of town. Same with Ikea and Five Guys. I’ve never been to those. They’re here but it’d be going way out of my way to hunt these places down.
When asked if you travel you mention they’re clear… on the other side of your city. I guess that’s a no. Being 50+, I’d suggest seeing some of the world (or at least some other cities in your own country) before the end. Live a little.
Respectfully and curiously: How did you explore digitally, and end up here, on Lemmy, of all places, but haven’t ever seen a Costco?
If I understand you correctly, I’ve seen Costco in Idiocracy and on the internet and have looked at them via Google Street view. But I’ve never seen one with my own eyes in the real world.
And that’s insane, unless you lived in a country that they don’t exist.
Hahahaaaaah.
Walmart tried to come here and lost. Das war sooo Scheiße.
We’re Walmart AND Costco Free. No Carrefour, either.
Where do you live? The nearest one to me is 10 miles away. Within that radius there’s like at least a dozen Walmart one of which is within walking distance.
Respectfully, if u live with in 10 miles of a Costco, please go buy a hotdog and join the cult. Walmart/Sam’s just doesn’t hold a candle.
I doubt there are a dozen Walmarts in 10 miles. Also 10 miles is an insanely small radius.
You gotta love how Lemmy shits its pants when someone posts something AI related, and then someone posts some stupid ass meme generated with AI and no one calls it out. 😂
I feel like shitposting is the one place where AI art is fine. Nobody was doing real art here, that’s for sure.
Good Lord those cars are massive!
2038 Ford F150
Don’t worry scro, plenty of tards are living kick ass lives. My first wife is tarded, and she’s a pilot.
They’ll need a public transport system. Not for anything as un-American as bringing the carless to Costco, but for the motorists who lucked out and had to park in the outer reaches of the car park.
Or they could just make the aisles between the shelves wider and make the whole thing drive-in
Like this? https://inv.nadeko.net/watch?v=Xc_6wfDYuFU
Yes!
What I see lacking is a dedicated way to get all the trucks and trains in for the supply chain.
we put that all underground. Can’t have the modern day consumer seeing how the sausage is made.
That actually makes sense. At least to explain the picture. If you’re going to concrete over the whole bay, an underground rail system is easy.
I’m wondering what happens to all the shipping once the Oakland port is paved.
That stuff all gets moved to the Costco loading dock (not pictured)
except its going to be a giant datacenter instead.
I do love Costco though
I was gonna say, of all the big chains in America, Costco at least seems to try and be half decent to its customers and staff
It’s a good place to work and takes pretty good care of its employees including good wages.
What really drives it home for me is the nametags. They say “employee since (year)” and I’ve seen a ff of people who have been there for 15-20 years. Meanwhile, find me anyone who has worked at McDonald’s for more than one year and hasn’t given up on life.
Canadian Costco employee here…
One thing that helps are the 3k bonus cheques you get every 6 months once you pass the 12,000 hours worked mark.
It almost looks mesmerising at this scale
Crazy how nature do dat
Cars bigger than houses. Gas pavilions as tall as a skyscrapers. Is this heaven?
I love you!
