    Me hearing about Trump.

    Hope he meets a violent end soon. Hope this country gets some competent leaders soon too. That criminal and his associates deserve the worst form of justice.

    This situation we are in is the culmination of Capitalism and two nearly identical parties driving the United States for the past 2XX years.

            Ever hear people say they don’t trust atheists because without God, they have no moral compass?

            Well, I don’t trust people whose only reason to not rape, pillage, and plunder is because they believe in a fairy tale that says they’ll burn in Hell if they submit to their dark fantasies. That’s a person who is inherently bad, but resisting it, and ine day, they may stop resisting. I prefer people who are inherently good, and dont need fear motivation to behave properly in society.

                Technically that would be a defense if the god in question was actually as powerful as they say they are or that they are nessisarily good. There is always a possibility that Gods exist but are not on the hook to tell the truth and their goals do not align with humans.

                A lying god telling the kids they have magic powers well beyond them and proving it like an uncle playing a dumb trick on the three year olds at a family reunion is a possibility. Maybe God exists and is just kind of an ass?

    Another reason I’m glad to be off reddit. I still check the front page with no account, and they posted a wider image, With many in the crowd in blue. To me it looked altered, like one of those black and white colorized photos. I really can’t tell. The comments were full of people defending this.

    I truly can’t tell whats real sometimes, but why tf would you wear blue? Even if more did… why? Match your wife dude- culturally in the states we wear black.

    As a mother it’s giving: “I don’t care what (your friends) others are doing, My “president” (kid) should have more decency than this”

      Culturally in the states? I believe the funeral was in the Vatican, so follow their cultural rules (which happen to coincide), not yours.

        Heads of state generally keep their cultural garb at meetings regardless of country. It’s why it was double stupid to insult Zelenskyy the way they did. But this faux pas is a distraction. There’s no use wasting energy on Trump’s outfit when he’s deporting infants who are us citizens.

            Honestly. It’s horrible that he’s sending people who are legally allowed to be here to his concentration camp, but it is also equally horrible that he’s sending people who aren’t legally allowed to be here to his concentration camp.

            Immigrants are good. Immigration is good. Everything about this is fucked up and goes against the soul of America.

            I was just reading an article saying it’s terrible we’re deporting a ton of kids who never speak to a lawyer. Then it said the proportion had gone up, and cited the old pre-fascism figure. The smaller number was also appalling!

            So, clearly sickening all around.

            Anybody know what the proper path forward would be? Say the proper interim path. If giving the best representation to all kids means thankfully more get to stay, might it change the calculus of parents put in impossible situations and lead them to strategically abandon their children here hoping they’ll get a better life? And maybe it’s an entirely rational decision at least at first—but eventually even more kids might slip through the cracks. And as costs for anything balloon, negative attention does too. Negative attention sucks oxygen even when you’re willing to fight.

            And public defendants already have like negative time to spend with their clients, we desperately need more.

            Fucking sucks

          He wore a blue suit and had an old man nap is a much bigger problem than his arresting judges and ensuring the torture and death of fellow humans. The society as a whole is fucked.
