The files are in a google drive here
The House of Representatives Oversight Committee published 33,295 pages, including flight logs, jail surveillance video, court filings, audio recordings and emails.
But Republicans and Democrats alike said the files contained little new information and it is unclear if the justice department is withholding other Epstein records.
You know whats infuriating?
How many cameras there were supposed to be active in this high security prison that for some reason had an outage and left us with only 1 angle that doesnt even actually show the door, entrance, or cell block Epstein was in.
but the camera shows no suicide!
Just like our deep range scans show no teacup between here and the moon. Surely this is evidence that there isn’t a teacup. Surely
Friendly reminder that when they redact information, it’s because they fear that the information they’re keeping from you is worse than you think it is.
In this case, believe them.
Is this another binder of already public info?
Mostly. The article mentions the missing surveillance video minute, and some flight logs being new.
Yes
what’s mildly infuriating about that?
There are more than 300 gigabytes of Epstein files confirmed by the DOJ. If we are generous and say all these 33,000 pages are stored as images rather than text, they probably aren’t more than 25gb. And 97% of them were already public.
JFC…300GB of text? How big was that island? Was it Australia?
It’s not all text. But I think most of it is scanned docs based on what’s been released so far.
i guess it’s a great time for a new whistleblower
They are doing it because it was looking like they would get the signatures in congress to force the release of the full archives despite speaker Mike Johnson blocking the vote on it. Now they are trying to take the wind out of the sails out of that movement. The best whistleblower would be congress itself.
It’s the same fucking files from a few weeks ago.
Release the list with Trump’s name!
Nothing people didn’t already know, but my god it has been an effective distraction when people bring them up in response to Trump doing literal Dictator shit.
and all pee pee videos. Including Elon tripping on the oval office sofa.
Wait, are you telling me the list doesn’t have Trump’s name on it?!? Does that mean he has absolutely zero ties to Jeff Epstein and most likely never met him and if he did he probably wouldn’t remember because he met so many people that night?!?
exactly! total exoneration!!! now let’s please focus on real issues like the 17 trans college athletes running or swimming or hitting balls with their wicked appendages
Because it’s pretty much all public knowledge. There’s nothing novel there. It’s very obviously a distraction and obfuscation tactic.
It’s a tactic commonly used as a defense strategy by corporate attorneys, especially when defending against private parties: you simply inundate the opposing side with reams of borderline irrelevant bullshit. Makes it substantially harder to find pertinent documents, and also serves to delay the discovery that maybe something important was left out.
This is the kind of shit i would love to see AI destroy but it seems more likely we’re only going to get the shitty parts of AI instead
There’s a super easy way to solve this. Especially for corporations.
“The company’s operations will be suspended during the suit, until such time as the court can determine whether the company is operating illegally.”
You want to flood the zone with shit to draw out your court case for 18 months until everyone loses interest? You can still do that. But you won’t be making any money while you do, and I expect your employees still need paychecks if you want them to still be there when this wraps up.
This isn’t a silver bullet for every sort of court case, but I think this is a very sensible and obvious solution to corporate crimes.
Open to abuse, unfortunately. If even the most trivial of cases takes a week to resolve, then you could shut any company down by filling fifty suits.
The real solution would be for the judge to actually do their job and to penalise companies for doing that kind of bullshit.
if there was anything in the epstein files that was going to hurt trump, the democrats would have already used it. all this fuss is being made over something that won’t be enough to incriminate anyone and that his supporters don’t care about even if it did.
this is hillary’s emails or the benghazi bullshit all over again. it’s pure political theater. but it’s a nice distraction from the military force he’s assembled to invade venezuela or CBP being trained to use mortars and weapons of war, or ICE getting Israeli spyware that allows them to hack any android or ios device remotely without you knowing, or any one of the other hundred things that are going on that should be alarming people.
How would the Democrats have already used it?
Biden controlled the DoJ while the investigation was ongoing. Do you think Biden would have covered for pedophiles, if they had evidence that would incriminate?
I don’t think much of Biden, but him being sympathetic to pedophiles isn’t something I would believe, even if those pedophiles were in his party. That’s just pizzagate nonsense.
How quickly we adapt. The president SHOULDN’T control the DOJ. separation of powers is supposed to be a thing.
Do you think Biden would have covered for pedophiles, if they had evidence that would incriminate?
given the vast number of frequent flier miles Bill Clinton had to the island, hell yeah. We forget Trump was once buddies with Democrats.
Also democrats tend to keep more of an arms length with doj. This idea that they would go rutting through everything looking to use it for political gain like trump is a bit rediculous given historically we do not see the behavior with them. Heck they would pause if they knew he was on with concerns about harming the office of the presidency.
even if those pedophiles were in his party
I disagree with you on this. I fully believe that Biden is enough of a status-quo type that he would withhold the documents if there were enough names to significantly damage the current Democrat hierarchy.
I respect the job he did while president, but Biden wasn’t rocking the boat any more than he had to.
You seem to have forgotten that Biden was a weak, ineffectual president who ran on a platform he mostly failed to deliver. He acted like he was scared of using executive orders, and made a lot of stink about niche issues like a student loan forgiveness, but even on those couple issues he was hamstrung by courts and republicans.
If Biden had been handed a smoking gun of evidence that would have put Trump behind bars, he would have opted to shelve it in a drawer because “presidential decorum blah blah blah”.
