I mean that’s unfortunately just the normal military budget lol. There’s no extra money in there for a war. That’s the peace time budget.

Oh, now the MIC does something? Strange, they seemed to be oddly quiet when it comes to Ukraine. I’m always a bit surprised the MIC isn’t all in on sending both old military stock and newly developed stuff there for testing and recognition. So much money to be made. It can also be quite the advertisement if your 30-year-old tanks can crush the mighty modern Russian army. Including the invincible T14 Armata shown off in 2015.

This was their times to shine, and even the most hardened anti-war peace lovers would have been forced to thank them for it.

The list of votes is here

This is far from an appearance issue. 18 Republicans also opposed the budget. If every Democrat had joined the 18 Republicans in saying no, this budget would not have been approved. Every politician – Democrat or not – who approved this budget needs to be voted out, no questions (if we get the chance). Primary the Democrats who voted “Yea”.

“There’s always money for bombs” but $900 Billion is absurd; and Democrats are screwing everyone over by encouraging this war. We do not want MAGA to have Wartime Powers. We do not want JD Vance, Stephen Miller, and Mike Johnson to have Wartime Powers.

18 Republicans also opposed the budget. If every Democrat had joined the 18 Republicans in saying no, this budget would not have been approved

This is usually by design to protect risky seats and give the impression that they were opposed for political points. In essence those 18 Republicans are only enabled to vote no because they know Dems are supporting this passing. If more Dems voted no, less Republicans would have.

This bill also removed the right to repair requirement for military contracts. So if that $100 million jet from Lockheed martin breaks then we have to pay them whatever they want to fix it.

This creates a great incentive for the military contractors to build quality durable hardware …

The bill, which is now bound for the Senate and which authorizes more than $900 billion, includes “critical pro-Israel provisions,” according to AIPAC.

More genocide money. Fuck America and Israel.

I’m sad I’m still sometimes surprised at the depravity and shittyness of the US government and their violent, corrupt, evil handlers. They are the most evil people on earth running the most evil empire the world has ever seen. May they all burn in hell.

Not surprising, about %50 of democrats are impostors. They would easily switch to republican party if they riskrd losing their seats.

There’s a reason we scoff at the notion of “far left” in US politics. Their options are right wing and fascist.

Sounds like that’s just what Democrats are and you’re struggling to come to terms with it.

    Squares and Rectangles…

Every Republican is a corrupt politician, but not ever corrupt politician is a Republican.

The logical solution is getting rid of corrupt politicians regardless of party.

If you are living in the US, you exist under that system.

So maybe do whatever your plan is (anarchism, accelerationism, socialism) WHILE using the pre-existing system?

Nah we can’t give up our comforts to make any real change. We can’t quit paying taxes or literally revolt violently because Stranger Things season 5 just dropped. We’re all scared and lazy especially the 2A folks who were always talking about needing the guns for when the government needed to be dealt with.

Damn, you sure made a lot of assumptions off of someone asking US citizens to make use of their privilege to vote.

You know there are multiple ways to affect change and you don’t have to choose just one, right?

    Needs link to source.

Isn’t this the spending authorization bill they pass every year since 1961? It’s not specifically about Venezuela.

Notably among Democrats, it’s mostly the New Democrat Coalition (older, moderate, Clinton era 3rd way) voting for this & the Congressional Progressive Caucus (newer, liberal, progressive) voting against it. They’re a big tent party.

Vote New Democrat Coalition Congressional Progressive Caucus
    Yea 62 22
    Nay 18 59
