                  Why? Why should kinks be policed? I agree nonconsensual content shouldn’t be posted online. But why is the person with a kink deserving of punishment for looking for that kink? A lot of times there is no way to know what content is consensual or not anyway - that’s why I recommend supporting individual content creators for porn.

              So viewing snuff is now a reason to be enslaved permanently and forced to betray your own country with lies? What?

              Like JD Vance deserves to be tarantula hawk wasp’d by Russia because he likely viewed bestiality (dolphin/woman search history teased by Russia)? Or Tucker Carlson did something weird with dogs (see oddly teased story about how a demon scratched his back but it was actually his dogs) so now he has to be Putin’s removed forever? Trump raped kids so now he has to run for office and sell out the US and rob us blind? A bunch of these men are rapists trying to avoid the prison system and still out raping left and right. Part of what keeps people in gangs are the crimes they commit together as witnesses and insurance against each other.

              Like I get that these are not okay things, but 1) viewing pre-recorded content privately isn’t really harming anyone new as an isolated viewer 2) hosting and making the content is the biggest issue by far 3) we can’t destroy our own society with sexual blackmail, this shit is losing proportionality 4) actual physical abusers get less severe sentences than what some of these blackmailed people have to do.

              How do you think people get kinks? Do you think kinks can be changed? Do you think there is any kind of reliable science on how kinks are formed and how people can resist engaging in them?

              Why are you focusing on the individuals when it’s much more importantly an entire gigantic system? It’s like a slavery online virus infecting people. Maybe Candace Owens loves lesbian piss sex and doesn’t deserve to be forced into saying women shouldn’t work or vote.

                  It’s not illegal to be fucked in the head. It isn’t illegal to have kinks. Further, there is absolutely no treatment for it.

                  We have tons of old horror films with hot women being tortured and killed, filmed in a legal, consensual way - the kink can be fulfilled without blatant nonconsent. It’s actually common enough that there’s stories of men who will walk into strip clubs and pay thousands to have strippers just lay there not moving. It may not be your kink, but there is nothing inherently immoral with adults consenting in this.

                  A major part of this issue is that it can be hard to know which content online is consensual. Regardless of if the film itself is consensually filmed, someone may not want that information divulged.

                  And again, the bigger issue BY FAR is that this is happening for EVERY KINK and has COMPROMISED GLOBAL SECURITY OF THE WORLD.

                  Like humans don’t deserve a return to slavery en masse due to searching weird kinks, grow up.

                  Again, you’re losing sight of proportionality. The punishment should fit the crime. Someone viewing illicit content should not be treated at the same level as someone making and hosting that content. Especially since it is a national security risk to do so and largely abusers and most of these people actually making and hosting the content walk freely anyway…!

    Nobody asked for one, but I got a pretty good explanation for why this is what why this is happening.

    ML’s on lemmy are predominantly of the “deprogram” variety (in reference to the deprogram podcast and r/thedeprogram being quite large on reddit), and generally they’re a laughing stock given the narratives they parrot that are so de-attached from the material reality and their various mannerisms when it comes to arguing. One of the larger narratives is that the west and western imperialism is horrible (which is true), and that whoever is opposed to it must be a force for good or something, which manifests as uncritical support for China, Russia, Iran even though they’re both imperialist bourgeoisie states too.

    I see some people claim that they’re some paid Russian shills, which is wrong. They do it for free, with a genuine belief because that’s what their community says and does.

      Yes, I know some people like this irl, and they are definitely ideological.

      It’s true that most of us in the “West” are in a bubble and don’t realise just how bad the imperialism caused by our countrymen has been, and continues to be. Like, we fuck the rest of the world so hard, we just call it economics.

      I don’t have any answers on how to solve that, unfortch. I’m just a helpless citizen of the empire watching my surplus income go to inflicting starvation on children before they get shot in the stomach…

    Having a mandatory “these government/nations are above criticism” stance is just nationalist fascism, no different to MAGA fascism.

    If a nation can’t be criticised or questioned, it can’t be improved, and is dead in some serious way. .ml users should be embarrassed for staying there. The standards you walk past are the ones you accept.

      Seriously, BRICS overall, with slave labor factored in (because most bots are slaves, not computers, NPR did a story on it), and all the illegal and illicit videos put/hosted online for blackmail, plus the crypto scams and romance scams, has to be in the trillions.               I’m quite entertained by their daily tantrums. They think they’re accomplishing some sort of “revenge” and “war” against Lemmy and the West in general, which just amounts to getting banned constantly and making comments nobody will read because they’re removed by moderator with a couple of clicks. They’ve told me they’re “trying to make Westerners feel the pain they’ve inflicted on everyone else”… through swearing at people and telling them to die. They have no clue how sad and delusional they’ve become.
