for everyone in this thread defending Afroman, saying that one picture with Trump was just a photo-op during his presidential run and doesn’t reflect his values, I’d urge you to read this article about a song he really wanted to sing at Trump rallies.

I think the takeaway here is that while he may not be a full blown facist, he’s willing to align with them to make a buck, which is kinda the main issue with the US gov right now.

I don’t think it is. I don’t know if any context can help when taking a photo op with a Nazi pedophile.
The list of people you are referring to is very, very, long. The internet is littered with pictures of respectable world leaders having a photo op before a meeting.
Some of that different because they’re forced to have to work him. Afroman was under no such force. So, yeah I guess context is still important, but given the context Afroman still isn’t absolved.

I’m patriotic in the sense that I want what is best for my countrymen. I want that to be done in a manner where both me and my country are ethical and productive members of our global society.

just to clarify, the photo alone in the link you sent does not provide sufficient evidence that Afroman has cozied up to Trump or supports Trump. As far as I can tell, so far, no evidence points to him supporting Trump.
That said, he is a Christian and says transphobic things, and he clearly competes with Trump for some of the same right-wing Libertarian voters, so it’s clear Afroman is at least in some right-wing spaces and supports some right-wing ideas, even if I don’t think you have sufficient evidence to say he’s close to Trump or a Trump supporter.

I think the millions of slaves in America would disagree when the British empire outlawed slavery 30 years earlier without having a civil war over the issue.
I am not the most knowledgeable on this subject but didnt they just do what amounts to slavery in their colonies like in India? They had colonial rule over India until like sometime in the 1900s didn’t they? I just checked and Ireland didn’t gain independence until 1949. I think the idea that the British empire and it’s monarchy is better than the democracy that extended its benefits only to white men is kind of a hard sell. Its the British empire 😅
